Energy is the basis for human survival and development and the key to progress ofsocial and economy. With the development of social and economy, the demand forenergy is increasing. Fossil energy is the main energy of the world’s consumption and itis non-renewable. Along with the human excessive consumption, most fossil energywill be exhausted in this century due to human. On the other hand, environmentproblems such as air pollution and greenhouse effect are increasing because of theunreasonable exploitation of fossil energy. Therefore, exploring and developing cleanerrenewable energy actively is the key to solve the problems of future energy on the basisof rational utilization of fossil energy.Biomass energy has advantages of widely distributed, strong renewable, lowpollution, and supplied abundantly, etc. Biomass gasification technology withadvantages of high efficiency and the widely used has become the focus in the biomassenergy utilization technology. Biomass gasification is one of the potential technologiesfor making the high heating value syngas in the thermal chemical conversion process.Biomass gasification technology can realize the clean energy conversion of biomass andmaking full use of low grade energy. Biomass gasification is a strategic research topic. The typical agricultural straw biomass and waste——corn straw, soybean strawand poor lean coal in Chongqing area were chosen as experimental subject. Theexperiments used weight analysis method to examine the co-gasification weightlessnessfeatures of the samples in carbon dioxide atmosphere. On this basis, the co-gasificationexperiments of lean coal and corn straw in the fixed bed were done to analyse the gascomponent, low heat value and morphology of co-gasification coke. The experimentsshowed that synergistic effect occurs in the co-gasification processes and differentbiomass can produce different (soybean straw> peanut shells> corn straw). The properpercent corn straw can promote the co-gasification. In both atmosphere (O2-N2-H2O andO2-CO2-H2O), the low percent straw promote the combustible gas percent andincreasing of temperature can promote H2and CO. The adding of straw can increase themicrocellular in the char. Using CO2as the gasifying agent can gain the component andheat valve of flammable gas.
