| Retaining wall is widely used not only in road building but also industrial and civilconstruction, meanwhile, it is used as a structure to support fillings or soils with thepurpose to prevent deformation instability of filling or soil. China is a mountainouscountry, retaining wall is becoming more broadly applied, strengthen of retaining wall’sresearch has a good academic and engineering meaning.Firstly, types, characteristics, suitable cope, advantages and disadvantages arebriefly discussed, and also reinforced concrete buttressed retaining wall as a new typewhich with inclined plate is putted forward in this paper. Secondly, theories on finiteelement methods and ANSYS which is one kind of finite element software areintroduced. Thirdly, three types of reinforced concrete buttressed retaining walls such asheight of oblique backplane equals to panel one, height of oblique backplane belowpanel one, height of oblique backplane below panel one with horizontal plate arediscussed by using ANSYS. Finally, for height of oblique backplane equals to paneltype, effects on retaining wall and soil body caused by different lengths of horizontalplate and angles of oblique backplane are studied. For height of oblique backplanebelow panel type, effects on retaining wall and soil body caused by different heights andangles of oblique backplane are studied. For height of oblique backplane below paneltype which with horizontal plate, effects on retaining wall and soil body caused bydifferent heights of oblique backplane and lengths of horizontal plate are studied,meanwhile, effects of loads acting on top of wall are also researched. Through analyzing,it is found that not only displacements of these new type retaining walls but also forcesare related with lengths of horizontal board, heights and angles of oblique backplaneand lengths of extender board. Conclusions based on this can be used to providereferences in actual projects. |
