A variety of soft soil foundation has a wide distribution in our country, especiallyin some coastal areas. However, on the other hand, with the accelerated pace and theincreasing scale of China’s economic construction at this stage, many engineeringconstruction have low choice with the foundation conditions which made it have to bebuilded on some soft soil foundation. so, it urgently calls for a variety of advancedtechnology of foundation treatment. The cement-mixing pile composite foundation isjust such a kind of foundation treatment method which be used to reinforce saturatedsoft clay foundation commonly. Since it has many incomparable advantages comparedto some other foundation treatment methods, so,it has been widely used in all kinds ofengineering now.However, we must recognize that the cement-mixing pile composite foundationtreatment technology in China has only ten years of history, there is also a embarrassingsituation that the engineering application ahead of the theory research, and it is still farfrom to guide the engineering practice with the level of the existing theory. Also needmore in-depth research and discussion. In this context, according to the steps oftheoretical derivation, numerical simulation and analysis summary, this papersuccessively do some research with the cement-mixing pile composite foundation’sbearing mechanism, failure mode, bearing capacity calculation method and the affectingfactors about load-bearing characteristics and so on. There are the several aspects asfollowing:(1) analysis the cement-mixing pile composite foundation’s bearingmechanism,working utility and the general failure mode detailedly from the macro andmicro two aspects.(2) according to all the parts of the cement-mixing pile composite foundation’sbearing capacity, analysis the corresponding bearing capacity calculation method, andthe general formula of bearing capacity of composite foundation is given.(3) as an example, to do some simulation analysis with a actual project by theANSYS program, and then compared with the theoretical calculation results to verifythe rationality of the method for calculating the ultimate bearing capacity.(4) research the load-bearing characteristics of the composite foundation.Considering different pile modulus, pile spacing (or replacement rate), cushion situation and the pile length on the influence to the load-bearing (force and displacement) ofcomposite foundation, to summarizes some of the rules.Through some of the work in this paper, to enrich the existing study of thecement-mixing pile composite foundation theory, to provide some guidance andreference for the similar research and related engineering practice later.
