Large-scale wind turbine is a kind of hydraulic integration and complex energyequipment, it’s under complicated conditions,which is strict with service life andreliability. Traditional design methods are risk, high cost, long cycle by testing andmodifying the physical prototype. Therefore, it is necessary to simulate its dynamiccharacteristics by the simulation analysis in the design process in order to avoid majormistakes, shorten design cycle, reduce design costs, and improve design quality.International standard GL2010has clearly defined that large-scale wind turbine mustimplement multibody system modeling and dynamic performance simulation. However,domestic research has just began, the paper focus on multibody system modeling anddynamic characteristic simulation analysis of a MW-class wind turbine and its drivetrain,which has theoretical significance and practical value.The main research contents are as follows:(1) Modeling approaches of three complexity multibody system of the windturbine gearbox is researched, which are pure torsional rigid multibody model, six DOFrigid multibody model and flexible multibody model. Their frequency domaincharacteristics and time domain characteristics are simulated and compared forverifying the advantages and disadvantages of each modeling program.(2) Flexible multibody system of wind turbine drivetrain is modeled,by which thefrequency domain response analysis and time domain simulation analysis are applied tocomprehensively screened resonance points and corresponding responded parts of windturbine drivetrain.(3) Wind turbine aerodynamic-elastic-control coupling simulation model isestablished to simulate pitch change and emergency stop conditions. Variable speedvariable pitch control and speed simultaneous optimization brake control programs usedin the simulation analysis achieve good control effect.(4) Theoretical natural frequency and parameter consistency test are implementedto comprehensively validate wind turbine simulation model for improving accuracy andfeasibility of the simulation model.Thesis research can provide a reference for the wind turbine design, authentication and failure analysis.
