All along, steel deck pavement has troubled engineers as a big problem. Especially thecomplex mechanical characteristics and service condition of the long-span suspension bridge,this situation put forward extremely stringent requirements to steel deck pavement. In the contextof the great development of the roads and bridge construction in our country, on the basis ofabsorbing the successful experience of foreign countries, we strive to develop pavementmaterials and pavement structure which is suitable for actual use of domestic. From theintroduction of modified asphalt SMA pavement technology in Hu Men Bridge to the SecondNanjing Yangtze River Bridge which used dual-layer epoxy asphalt mixture, or Jiang Yin Bridgewhich used the British pouring asphalt mixture. Since all have both successes and failures, but nomatter what a bridge, numerous staff devoted countless hard work, also shows that we have theurgent need for success and perfect steel bridge pavement technology.The Fourth Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge is China’s first three-span hanging suspensionbridges, it is called the "Golden Gate Bridge of China". The main span of1418m is three-spancontinuous steel box girder, adopts the pouring asphalt pavement in Japanese theHonshu-Shikoku contact bridges. The whole structure is40mm pouring asphalt mixture of layerbelow+35mm modified asphalt mixture top layer. This paper combined with The FourthNanjing Yangtze River Bridge steel deck pavement engineering, and carried a research about thecomposite structure performance by test. Research is mainly on the bridge deck pavementperformance, the main process is as follows: First, I introduced technical indicators of rawmaterial, and carried out mixture ratio design work on this basis; Then, on the basis of mixtureratio test indoor, I did indoor performance tests by molding test pieces; Combination with themain bridge’s test section, I further verify the mixture ratio and pavement performance; Finally,by tracking the main bridge pavement’s day-to-day monitoring.This thesis summarized and analyzed the high temperature stability, low temperature crackresistance, fatigue performance of composite structure, and liquidity of pouring asphalt mixture.In this paper, I pertinently did pouring asphalt penetration test, Marshall test, high temperaturebending creep test, rutting test, trabecular bending test, splitting fatigue test, composite beamwith steel fatigue test and pouring asphalt mixture liquidity test.
