The power transformer is one of the most critical equipment in the power grid and powertransmission,and its ability to withstand short-circuit is directly related to the ability to operatesafely and reliably of the grid.In this paper, the leakage magnetic field of the winding, the short-circuit force and strengthof the windings are calculated and analyzed by finite element numerical method as a large powertransformer for example. Some conclusion with reference value to the transformer designing andmanufacturing departments are obtained.This thesis will first describe the background and significance of this topic. The researchstatus at home and abroad of leakage magnetic field, the short-circuit force and theshort-circuit strength of the power transformer are discussed.Then equivalent calculation modelof the25000VA/220kV power transformer is set up in short-circuit situation based on finiteelement numerical calculation method in the paper, meanwhile, the leakage magnetic field ofwindings and dynamic Short-Circuit Force in such case are calculated, and comparison betweendynamic and static axial forces is conducted. At last, influencing factors of the Tractiontransformer Short-Circuit force is proposed. Technical data and conclusions for designingrequirements is provided.
