The main problem faced in the reconstruction of cement pavement is the appearance andenlargement of reflection cracks. This problem could be prevented by setting a high bondingspreading type stress absorbing layer between the new and old layers, which not only has a goodbonding ability, but also has the ability to absorb the reflected stress, the water damage could beprevented either.This article mainly talks about the application of modified asphalt in high bondingspreading type stress absorbing layer based on the existing research. A series of tests werecarried out to compare the road performance of the different kinds of modified asphalts and theinfluences of varieties and spread quantities on the bonding ability. Through this, a recommendkind of modified asphalt and spread quantities was confirmed. Besides that, this article discussesthe mechanical characteristics of the stress absorbing layer by using ANSYS analysis software. Asuitable treatment of old cement concrete slab was determined. At last, this article discusses theconstruction technique of high bonding spreading type stress absorbing layer.
