After using engines for some time, there will be large amounts of carbon depositioninside the combustors, which will not only reduce engines’ performance and increasefuel consumption, but also cause damage to its structure. As a new way of removingcarbon from engines, Carbon Removal with Oxyhydrogen (CRO) is different from othermethods like Drip-way or Foam-way. CRO is more efficient, cost-effective andpollution-freer, and can remove carbon from engines within a shorter time. There havebeen several types of CRO machines being made and used in some4S stores; however,no one has studied the process and principle of CRO in theory. This article will studythis carbon removal method through different ways, and will set up experiments tostudy its results, like how much carbon it removes and how it changes automobileexhaust. At the end of this article, this project provides a way of monitoring the workingprocess of CRO machine.At the beginning, this article introduces the properties of hydrogen and its general waysof production in industry, and analyzes the causes, damages and effects of carbon insideengines. According to the analysis, this article then studies the theories of CRO throughchemistry, combustion dynamics and hydrogen molecule diffusion, and gives somemathematical descriptions including general chemical equations to the process of CRO.In order to examine the effect of CRO, this project tries to find out how much carbonstill leaves inside the engine with endoscope. This serves as a direct way. Besides, thisarticle will analyze the changes of concentration of different gases in automobileexhaust to check out the effects of CRO. This serves as an indirect way.Before the test of automobile exhaust, this article introduces designs of this experiment,including the design of circuits, database, and program of communication. During thetest, this article finishes the data processing from sensors and then sends the result to theupper control system, which is designed later in this article. The control system savesand displays the results. This process is based on selecting the right sensors,In order to monitor the working of CRO machines and avoid safety problems, thisarticle designs a way of controlling CRO machines by abstracting physical signal fromengines and sending it to PLC. This design has been proven to work very well.
