With the rapid development of modern constructions in cities, a large numberof excavations have appeared. However, they face some serious problems likelimited construction site, complex environment and so on. At the same time, someexcavations are close to surrounding buildings so that the adverse effects to thesurrounding buildings caused by excavation cannot be ignored. Although manyscholars have already worked a lot in displacement-control of deep excavations inrecent years, a lot of work need to be done on interaction and deformation rule ofsupporting structures, soil around the excavation and surrounding buildings.Firstly, this dissertation summarizes characteristics of the excavation andintroduces development of the design theory of excavation supporting structures andexcavation deformation theory. Based on influence of surrounding soil and buildingscaused by excavation, the dissertation analyzes the collapse accident of a brick andconcrete structure caused by a excavation in Harbin qualitatively.This paper introduces the finite analysis theory of the excavation. Based on this,this paper makes a2d simulation analysis of the excava tion with ABAQUS and getsthe deformation rule of the stress and displacement of the foundation and thesurrounding building. What’s more, we obtain the critical depth of excavation thatcauses the accident.Finally, this paper designs a row piles supporting structure to the excavation.Then this paper makes a simulation analysis of the excavations with soil, supportingstructures and surrounding building as an integrated system. Through the simulationwe study the deformation rule of the stress and displacement of the foundation andthe surrounding building and compare the results with that without the supportingstructure. The results are helpful for the design and construction of the excavation.Through the theoretical analysis and numerical simulation analysis of theexcavation accident, this paper summarizes the mechanism of interaction of theexcavation-soil-foundation-surrounding building, realizes the accident mechanismand proposes some preventive measures. This work will offer some reference andguidance work to similar projects.
