The Improved Design Of Steyr Cab Electrical System

Chinese made Steyr series heavy-duty trucks is a series of heavy-duty vehicles introduced from Austrian Steyr company in the1980s.This kind of heavy-duty trucks is the main force in china’s heavy-duty truck models during the late80s to late90s.Until the early2000s, Steyr series heavy-duty trucks is still popular. With the development of the industry of automotive of electricity, especially in large scale of the applications of the integrated circuits and micro-processor, promoting the great development of the electronic control system and automotive electrical system greatly.The automotive electrical system has undergone a frememdous change.Whereas, the contradiction between the Steyr cab’s limited space and many necessary elements that should be installed become more and more prominents.Under the condition of ergonomic requirements of the premise, how to solve such conflict that exists in the Steyr series heavy-duty trucks has become the primary problem.This paper refers to ways of improvement of the original Steyr series heavy-duty trucks.This improvement onify the condition.of China and the customer’s needs together.The original Steyr vehicles electrical system made some significant improvements, improved electrical system still use the nominal voltage24V, Negative Ground single system.Compare with the original Steyr vehicle electrical systems the improved one adopted the new product, new technology in the design of instrmonent, lamps, circuit and the layout of the wiring harness. The improved one performance better quality of vehicle and satisfy the needs of the development of heavy-duty vehicles in recent years.This article lay emphasis on the design of wiring harness from the cab,start system and the part of instrumentation. It also point out the advantages of the improved Steyr senies heavy-dutDue to the rapid development of the moden technology of the automotive, the CAN bus technology is use to link the vavity electronic control units of automotive, intelligent sensors and intelligent, instruments together. In order to form automotive internal LAN and sharing informations between varity systems.This paper is also the primal research of the aplicaton of Shaanxi Automobile Group vehicle CAN bus.
