Summer Wind Environmental Research In Traditional Residential Courtyard Space

Nanjing is located in the subtropical regions,the weather is hot and humid in Summer and the local residence has a good adaptability in ventilation aspect of climate. Though accurate classification of different types of local dwellings and summarized its excellent engineering experience,we can understand our traditions in a rational way and effectively extract excellent engineering methods and strategiesBased on the effective classification of Nanjing traditional dwellings.this article uses computer methods contrast Wind environment of courtyard in simulation.Though detailed analysising courtyard form, Auxiliary space, and windows, this article sums up the causes and laws of their impact on the wind environment of courtyard. Through research and analysis and combined with the needs of today’s design, the paper finally gived some directional proposals for ventilation design of the small courtyard building in Nanjing area.
