With the fast process of urbanization and the rapid economic development ofChina,a large number of modern buildings are built. Meanwhile,traditional housesare facing to be abandoned by people,so,making indoor environment of traditionalhouses adapt to the modern residence requirements become urgent.Buildingventilation echnology can improve indoor comfort and reduce energy consumption,which is an important method to solve the problem.There exits three most common methods to study the wind environment ofsome districts,normly,field measurement, wind tunnel experiment and computernumerical simulation. The computer numerical simulation method has someadvantages of low cost and intuitive expression,so it is applied widely.NumericalSimulation depends on the CFD software.The software of ‘‘PHOENICS’’ is mainlyused to simulate the indoor and outdoor wind environment of the traditionaldwellings in this pape.In the core part of the paper, firstly, the author make numeral simulation of thewind environment around the Gunanjie in Yixing,analyses velocity field,pressurefield, air age field,and provides reference for the introduction of natural ventilation.the author choose three typical building construction to analysis their indoorvelocity field and air age field,and then according to the results of analysis to Judgethe quality of the indoor natural ventilation.finally.to the existing residentialventilation problems,I Put forward five methods,using casement as the airdeflectors,opening a skylight in the roof,setting up a ventilation chimney,setting upwindcatcher tower or system,and build a courtyard to improve the indoor naturalventilation.Finally,through the software simulation and theoretical inference, showthe rationality of these measures.Through this research, the author hopes that useful reference can be providedto traditional dwellings natural ventilation research, and this paper can play apositive role to a certain extent in the natural ventilation technology developmentand promotion, which can be used to protection and renovation of the traditional residential buildings.
