The slogan "Education starts from childhood" has been proposed by Deng Xiaoping early in the strategy of "rejuvenating the country through science and education" after Chinese reform and open policy. At present, with highly prosperous material life, global thinking on education is under ongoing change. It has become a common problem breeding in civilized society that children is lack of sufficient autonomy and self-reliance, social responsibility and normative consciousness. Childhood is a critical period of life, the education of children, not only in relation to a child’s future, but also to a family, a nation and even a country’s future and destiny."Children’s enlightenment education" is a kind of independent behavior ability education using suitable inspiring methods for children to help to set up healthy outlook on life and the sense of responsibility, cultivate good habits and adapt to the survival of life.3to6years old children began to participate in adult social practice activities, especially labor and learning activities, which is a critical-period of elementary education for children. Cultivation in this period will directly impact the children’s future growth and development, including mental health, behavior, thoughts, values, view of the world.For immature children in physical and psychological aspects, weak strength endurance, susceptible bone deformation, low heart capacity, lack of concentration and other issues pose challenges for the design of children’s elementary education sites. While how elementary education bears the responsibility in the training of children emotion, and what effort should be done in the design of children’s elementary education places perhaps should be a common issue that we have to consider.For this, based on actual children’s physical, psychological and behavior characteristics and comparison between children’s enlightenment education concept and design at home and abroad with collected data of children enlightenment environment, this article puts forward the principles should be followed in the design of children’s enlightenment education places-the principle of subjectivity, principle of game-play, principle of safety and environmental protection, principle of ecology, principle of integrity and principle of emotion. Following the principle of children’s affective in design is the innovation of this article. Designers not only need to follow the law of children’s physical and mental development, but also need to start from the emotion of children to provide a variety of learning and communication space to help them communicate and learn in a relaxed and happy environment, to cognize in games, think in games, grow up in games, and learn to cooperate and establish a good emotion and willpower.Finally, the paper explained from different angles in the design methods of elementary education sites for children. As game is the best way to for children to learn, experience and communicate, this article focus on the creation of game areas. In the design process, designers must provide different types of game areas to meet the needs of children, such as space close to the nature, the artificial simulation scenarios of the game space and rustic charm and adventure game space.For children’s healthy growth and the revival of a nation, it is necessary and meaningful to research the design of children enlightenment education sites.
