A nationality with creativity is one full of endless vitality and hope.A nation alive with innovation is one full of infinite potential for development.The passion,respect and protection of creation is the sign of progress of social civilization.As the world is going through “profound changes unseen in a century”,China is in desperate need for accelerating scientific and technological innovation,and innovative talent.The cultivation of creative ability has now become the primary task of fundamental education in China.How to form a relaxing and comfortable environment to stimulate children’s creativity is a significant challenge facing the design community.This paper discusses “how to cultivate and develop children’s creative ability through art education and space design”.The purpose is to offer new directions for cultivating and developing children’s creativity and new entry point of space design for children,so as to enrich the forms of modern art space design and enhance the diversity of art space design for children.This paper conducts studies on the relationship between the space design of art education for children and cultivation of children’s creativity.It is divided to five chapters.Chapter 1 introduces the background of the research project,domestic and overseas status of research,and analyzes the objectives and significance of the project.Chapter 2 discusses the theories concerning children’s creativity and space design of art education.It illustrates the defects in the current space design of art education.Besides,based on the cognitive psychology and specific forms of children’s space,the influence of space on children’s creativity is discussed.Chapter3 summarizes the principles and key points of space design of art education according to the cultivation of creative ability and elaborates upon the domestic and cases of space design of art for children.Chapter 4 is about the design practice.On the basis of theoretical knowledge summarized in previous sections,mushroom images are completed as the practice of space design of art education for children.In this way,it becomes the new space design of art education,which complies with contemporary aesthetic characteristics and promotes children’s creativity development.Chapter 5 mainly talks about the future prospect of art space of creative children.With the progress of society,the design of space design of art education for children will be further diversified.The cultivation of children’s creativity will provide new perspectives for the design of art space.Meanwhile,the art space of creativity will also offer new ways of thinking for cultivating creativity.
