In recent years, with the improvement of life standard and the deepening of the housing market, residential outdoor environment landscape has been abstracting more and more attention by the inhabitants and public opinion. Due to the ups and downs of real estate, developers are prompted to change its business philosophy. In real estate marketing, there turns out the theme of the environment landscape which attaches more emphasis to the demand of culture connatation, especially the national culture and regional culture. The traditional garden design form and the technique can’t meet the modern urban environment demand. Therefore, how to inherit and innovate, and how to create distinctive styles of the community landscape are the problems to be explored by the contemporary designers.With new background and function requirement,"Chinese and new" and "modern Chinese style" art and the appearance of architecture and furniture style lead the new-Chinese-style come in vogue landscape. The new-Chinese-style advocates the combining of traditional garden culture and modern residential landscape design. By combining inheritance and reconstruction of the Chinese and western styles the perfect combination, the modern residential landscape with real Chinese characteristics can be created..This paper studies the recent situation of the new-Chinese-style community landscape, analyzes the main ideas of renpresentive residential landscape designs emerged in recent years including their technique, advantages and disadvantages and explores the design methods. According to the research of the planning and lay out, landscape elements and detail design of some sophisticated cases, the thesis summarizes the design features and technique and explore how to syncretize the tradition and modern elements on the base of the landscape design of the Second Ink Jiangnan Villa in Suzhou.
