Anchor bolt is the equipment that commonly used in reinforcement engineering. Itsimportance seems particularly outstanding in the slope protection, highway, roadwayreinforcing. Due to the structure of the bolt is concealment, and there is no convenientdetecting means for detection of the anchor bolt. The anchoring quality problems causedby human factors serious threaten to the safety of the works. With the widespread use ofthe anchoring technology, non-destructive inspection of engineering structures and itshealth assessment, attracting widespread attention and has become the key research topicat current.This paper comprehensively reviewed and summarized the development of detectingtechnology for anchor bolt at domestic and foreign, and introduced the structural of theanchor bolt, which classification and axial stress distribution with wholly grouted. Thenone-dimensional longitudinal vibration law and its fluctuation characteristics are brieflyanalyzed. From the aspect of elastic dynamics, one-dimensional longitudinal vibrationcharacteristics of the bolt is analyzed, and longitudinal vibration solution for free boltsunder different boundary conditions are obtained. The longitudinal vibration characteristicis analyzed, and the solution of longitudinal vibration is composed of a variety of modalsuperposition. The solution of longitudinal vibration doesn’t give a wave propagationcharacteristic in one-dimensional bolt, Therefore, a D ’Alembert solution of the waveequation is introduced. The reflection characteristic of one-dimensional bolt under fixedend and free end is analyzed. The characteristics of longitudinal wave reflection andtransmission at the connection of two bolts with different material properties is analyzed.The dispersion characteristics of guided wave propagation in the bolt is introduced,numerical model is established to investigate the propagation characteristics of guidedwave. The propagation characteristics of guided waves with different frequencies in thebolt is studied.Acoustic characteristics of the bolt under stress state were analyzed by acoustoelasticeffect. The relationship between the sound velocity and stress are obtained. A certainexperiment foundation using ultrasonic guided waves technique to measure stress in theanchoring bolt is provided, the experimental study and numerical simulation show that thismethod is satisfied.By numerical simulation of the wave propagation in the bolt, a propagation character- istics is got, which provides a basis theoretical in anchoring quality detecting and healthassessment.
