With the development of city and radio management need, will have a large number of radio monitoring station. As a result of ultrashort frequency wave propagation affected by terrain effect is larger, different types of radio transmitting station the working mechanism and the characteristics of different monitoring system equipment, as well as the different characteristics of the ultra short wave monitoring system, the coverage area for research into current radio management work need to study the important issue.The main contents of this paper are monitoring coverage simulation calculation. Theoretical study on the method of ITU-RP.1546model, Okumura.Hata model, Egli model, LEE model, Okumura model, Cost model,231-WI wave band for several propagation model was studied, and then select the suitable for monitoring coverage calculation of propagation model for monitoring coverage, calculated to provide theoretical guidance. Through the typical value calculation method for different types of radio coverage radius was calculated, and the Wuhai area radio stations cover is calculated and evaluated.In the setting of simulation calculation of propagation model, consider monitoring station for radio transmitting station covering problem, for different ways of working under various types of radio station simulation coverage calculation, must be based on the work characteristics and propagation characteristics are to be considered.
