With the rapid development of hydraulic industry, countries have realized the importance of hydraulic technology in industrial development, so they are increasing research investment and support. Axial piston pump is one of the most important parts in the hydraulic system, whose main function is to transform the mechanical energy into pressure energy and provide a strong power for the actuators. The performance of axial piston pump will have a directly influence on the efficiency of the hydraulic system, so it is the current research focus to study the flow property of value plate, the mechanism and control procedures of the noise, and the optimization design of valve plates in the present stage. In this paper, through the pressure distribution and the velocity distribution, the flow property of value plate is studied by FLUENT. First of all, the mathematical model of axial piston pump is set up. Considering the density and viscosity of fluid have a great effect on the analysis results, we establish the mathematical model, which is composed of the mass conservation equation, the momentum conservation equation, the energy conservation equation, the state equation of fluid and the Navier-Stokes equation. Secondly, the analytical model of axial piston pump is set up. We set up the k-ε turbulence model according to the fluidization of inlet, outlet, damping groove and piston cavity. Thirdly, analyse the flow characteristics of axial piston pump. The relationship between flow coefficient and turn angle can be fitted by simulation results. Finally, the optimization research of the valve plate structure. According to simulation calculation, it is proved that the combination struction of damping groove and damping hole is the optimal form.
