With the continuous development of society and the economic level, people expect much from comfort and practicality of residential buildinggs. Reinforced concrete special-shaped column structures combine building function with aesthetics. Special-shaped steel tube concrete core columns are combined with the two forms of special-shaped reinforced concrete columns and concrete filled steel columns. Therefore, special-shaped steel tube concrete core column have not only prominent advantages of reinforced concrete special-shaped column structures, but have the characteristics of concrete filled steel columns,foster strengths and circumvent weaknesses. There are three kinds of them are regular use. They are cross-shaped, T-shaped and L-shaped. The wide of these three forms of columns is same with beams, walls and not exposing beams and columns. It can be used widely in central column, side columns, and corner columns.There is some study about special-shaped steel tube concrete core columns in our research group. The axial compression bearing capacity tests about cross-shaped steel tube concrete core columns and T-shaped steel tube concrete core columns are conducted by our research group in1997. Then the axial compression mechanical behavior, eccentric compression mechanical behavior and temperature field and refractory limit are studied by finite element analyze software ABAQUS and ANSYS. On the basis of these test material mechanics index and finite element software simulation method, the mechanical behavior of special-shaped steel tube concrete core columns under drab level load and Low cyclic loading are both studied by ABAQUS.First, using the material mechanics of original cross-shaped and T-shaped columns of concrete-filled steel tube core in the test, finite element analyze software ABAQUS is used to analyze the mechanical behavior of special-shaped steel tube concrete core columns under drab level load. The influence factors of mechanical behavior studied in the article are axial compression ratio, the concrete strength inside and outside steel tube, steel pipe diameter and wall thickness. Meanwhile the specimen failure deformation, load-displacement curve as well as the components of the load-strain curve are extracted elaborate the various specimens of the failure mechanism and damage characteristics.Then, on the basis of the drab level load bearing performanceanalysis method, the mechanical behavior under low cyclic loading of three kinds of special-shaped steel tube concrete core columns is sdudied by ABAQUS. So the seismic performance of these columns can be knowed.Through this a series of research, the influence on the mechanical behavior of special-shaped steel tube concrete core columns under drab level load and Low cyclic loading can be understood. These can provide the reference for further theoretical research and engineering practice.
