In recent years, it is received much concern that Energy Analysis Method inseismic design of structures subject to the application of earthquake engineering athome and abroad, which is considered to be the future direction of developmenttheory. Damping energy have very important significance to reduce structuraldamage in the earthquake action, there are plenty of documentary records about itsstudies, but we concentrate mainly in the seismic response produced during theentire size of the damping energy analysis, and we get the relevant formula. Basingon the research in seniors, author changes the thinking, starting from the structure ofeach half cycle of the instantaneous vibration damping energy size, and delimitingconception of the moment damping energy duration with principles of Statistics,programing to linear single degree of freedom with language program softwareaccording to Newmark numerical calculation method, studying course feature ofdamping energy about ground tremor ongoing process. Getting conclusions asfollows:(1)Damping energy has very direct relationship with damping ration. In acertain range, damping ration is more large,and damping energy is more much.Damping energy as the branch energy of the all energy, is affected by natural cycleand seismic waves to some extent;(2)The damping energy duration is more less, the moment damping energyduration histogram is more focus; on the contrary is more dispersion. The dampingration is more large, duration chart is more gently;(3)When the damping ration exceeds5%of the linear single degree of freedom,and the natural cycle is in the interval of0-3seconds, the course feature of dampingenergy is much more close to the course feature of input energy.
