In modern society, the energy problem is becoming more serious day byday, which is receiving more and more attention from the world. The rational use ofelectricity is an important aspect of energy conservation. Lighting electricityconsumption plays an important proportion in entire electricity consumption of thewhole world. With the continuous development of society, the LED with energysaving, high efficiency, environmental protection, high reliability, long life and othercharacteristics, as green lighting concept of a new type of lighting source is beingwidely used in the world.With the development of LED applications for lighting, the correspondingLED driver also got very big development in the past important decade. Thedevelopment of the LED driver is gradually developing from the existing indoorlighting in small power driver toward outdoor lighting required for use of high-powerLED driver field. But the reality is that the LED driver now faces many challenges,especially for high-power LED driver. Due to higher requirements on the lightingperformance and technology, the high power LED driver faces a more difficultsituation. LED lighting application’s development trend is unstoppable, so, to replacetraditional light source, it’s just a matter of time. It is necessary to work on theresearch on LED driver for technical application, which also faces more challengeswith the future of a relatively vast application scene. Generally speaking, theresearch on high-power LED driver is an urgent but meaningful work direction.Based on practical significance of this paper,the study of the high power LEDdriver obtained important attention,from power factor correction technology, loopcontrol technology, topology analysis, power stability design. The principleintroduction, demonstration and calculation method of circuit parameter is alsosummarized in this paper.This paper involves four kinds of topologies for high-power LED driver basedon the simulation with the softwares of Pspice and PSIM to carry on the analysis andsimulation verification. Finally,an experimental prototype with80watts based onthe topology of Flyback was constructed for verification of reliability validation.
