The Pearl River Delta region of rapid economic development, air pollution is serious,years of haze days in more than100days, is China’s four heavy haze weather zoneone.Electrical equipment external insulation are generally rely on air support, the insulatingperformance and atmospheric conditions.In air pollution, especially pollution andatmospheric pollutants in the presence and role, electrical equipment external insulation faultwill have new features, so it is necessary for the air pollution on the insulation of electricalequipment are studied.In view of the Guangzhou area atmospheric features in different areas, is provided withan air discharge automatic monitoring devices, to monitor the air gap discharge startingvoltage and atmospheric parameters; combined with the Bureau of meteorology monitoringdata, research of the air pollution index API, air pollutants and air fine particles pollutionPM2.5and air gap discharge voltage relationship, study of atmospheric pollution the air gapexternal insulation performance; and analysis in last few years appears several times powerline insulation discharge typical case, description of atmospheric pollution on electricalequipment external insulation effect.Gray correlation analysis showed that, the carbonmonoxide and ozone and air breakdown voltage of the correlation degree is higher, PM2.5and air breakdown voltage of the correlation is weak.
