Load modeling is playing an important role in the designing, operation andcontrolling of power system. The researching of load modeling has got extensiveattention from the power system scholars and engineers. Researching work has been along time in the development of the electric industry.After a further study on the theory of load modeling, the author uses the overallmeasurement resolution for dynamic identification with the data from Sichuan powergrid based on wide area measurement system. The author makes practical improvementson TVA model with dynamic compensation links on active power and reactive power,and obtained that the improved TVA model has strong ability on self-describing,extracting the essential characteristics of integrated load,strong interpolation andextrapolation ability.In addition to the need for accurately model structure, the excellent identificationalgorithm is equally important. The author makes composition load model parameteridentification by using modern optimization algorithms like particle swarm algorithmand genetic algorithm. The author instructs the analysis and improvement on PSO andgenetic algorithm, makes composite load model parameter identification by particleswarm algorithm and genetic algorithm with excellent results.Based on in-depth understanding and researching on the problem of load modeling,we have developed the load modeling software platform used for parameteridentification in Sichuan power grid. The TVA model and improved modernoptimization algorithms mentioned in the paper have been applied in it and the platformhas achieved satisfied results. It has won recognition and praise from the experts with itsimproving functionality, simple operation and excellent scalability. And the perfectdatabase system provides a platform for the further study on the characteristics ofSichuan power grid load.
