Electricity supply plays an important role in the national life and socialdevelopment and penetrated into almost all aspects of daily life. In order to transport theelectricity generated by the power plant to the various regions, establish a complexnetwork of transmission, and mostly overhead transmission lines. Overheadtransmission lines can be more convenient for the large span of the power transmission,but there are many hidden dangers in the natural environment for a long time. Whenfaced with poor weather conditions, the operational status of the transmission lines willbe affected dramatically, even a major accident. Therefore, the monitoring of the state ofthe transmission lines is very important, which sag monitoring is one of the keyindicators.This article first provides an overview of domestic and foreign current sagmonitoring, analysis the scope of application of the various monitoring methods and theadvantages and disadvantages of these methods, and eventually adoption of themeasurement suspension point inclination monitoring sag. The main results of the workinclude the following:1. Complete the static model and software implementation based on the catenaryequation, and propose the multi-angle measurements of sag monitoring model by themethod of least squares fitting method, improve the sag measurement accuracy.2. Analysis the sag measurement method of iced transmission lines, includeuniform icing and uneven ice cover. Propose to take a fixed distance from the adjacentpoint for the iterative calculation of the coordinates in transmission line. This methodcan better solve the uneven ice cover transmission lines sag calculation problem.3. Establish the sag monitoring model of transmission lines in dancing state.Increase the sag dancing magnitude as the reference value in the spatial coordinates, itcan be real-time monitoring of transmission line dancing, the better judgment of linerunning state.4. Complete sag monitoring system model design combined with tilt sensor andWSN network, and integration of hardware and software programs to achieve sag monitoring functions of the system model. Build experimental platform for analogtransmission line, through the different states of the actual test, to prove the feasibilityof the theoretical model and system model of the sag monitoring, and there is highmeasurement accuracy to meet the monitoring requirements of the power sector.Finally, I propose the development conception of simple operation, accurate dataand automated of sag monitoring by studying the transmission line sag monitoringsystem, made actively explore to the sag monitoring study.
