With the rapid development of radio communication technology, getting DOAinformation of the received signal has become more and more important. So it is need tostudy radio direction finding technology thoroughly. The signal is received by theantenna of direction finding and the signal processing unit complete direction finding.This article mainly centers on the interferometer and correlation interferometer indetail. It includes the structure of direction finding system, principle, algorithm andaccuracy analysis of direction finding.First of all, according to the different principle of direction finding, it introducesmultiple categories for the systems of direction finding. For example, amplitudecomparison, phase comparison, time difference, spatial spectrum for direction findingsystem. And the article introduces the principle, characteristics of the direction findingsystem and performance of direction-finding set. The interferometer is widely used invarious fields because of its extraordinary advantages, such as high sensitivity andaccuracy, strong anti-interference, the measurements for azimuth angle and elevationangle. Interferometer includes phase interferometer and correlation interferometer indirection finding. Then basic principle and phase ambiguity of phase interferometer arediscussed in detail.Secondly, this article focuses on the correlation interferometer for direction finding.The correlation interferometer calculates the direction of wave by using clear algorithmof direction finding. It solves the fuzzy of standard phase interferometer. According tothe channel, it is divided into single channel and double channel, multichannel forcorrelation interferometer. This paper then introduces algorithm and principle forinterferometer direction finding of the single channel and double channel. It completesthe simulations of direction finding.Thirdly, because that the direction finding system of dual-channel correlationinterferometer has a large of calculations that generated from the massive data ofsample library. So it is important to improve the algorithm of correlation interferometerfor direction finding. Through putting forward the space angle, the two-dimensional data are transformed into one-dimensional data, which reduce the data volume of thesample library and improve the efficiency of the algorithm, especially for the efficiencyof direction finding. In this article, it introduces three relevant comparison function andthe improved algorithm is simulated in MATLAB. The factors that affect the result ofthe finding, such as the radius, signal-to-noise ratio and the factors of the measurementerror, such as the distance between antenna elements, the receiver channel are analyzed.Finally, based on the correlation interferometer for direction-finding system, thearticle presents the program, the system structure, software development environmentand DSP software implementation for the improved correlation interferometer ofdual-channel. Then, according to the results of the direction finding, the article analyzessome important technical performances, such as the accuracy, time of direction findingand so on.
