This paper deals with the characteristic of foundation pit supporting, cementmixing piles, soil nailing supporting technology. The soft soil foundation pit designand construction status in Xiamen are introduced. The characteristics of foundation pitsupporting, cement mixing piles with soil nailing supporting technology researchstatus and its theoretic method are introduced. The finite element theory is applied tothe analyses of this subject. The initial in-situ stress balance technique is adopted forobtaining the initial stress state. In foundation pit excavation analysis,‘model change’technique and the method of calculating safety factor of strength subtraction areintroduced. The mixing pile and the soil nail support in soft soil in working traits aresimply analyzed. The theory discussion and the relationship of optimum mixing pilefoundation pit excavation depth and the thickness in Xiamen as well as the rationalthickness of cement mixing pile are carried on by the finite element softwareABAQUS based on existed information. The deformation and stress of soil nailing arestudied by taking the actual excavation engineering in Xiamen as an example ofnumerical simulation. Compared with monitoring deformation data of the foundationpit, the ABAQUS numerical result is good with the practical engineering.
