The centrifugal slurry pump is a key equipment for delivering the solid-liquid mixed fluid, which is widely used in water conservancy, metallurgy, mining, coal, energy:power and jother industries. The flow components of slurry pump, such as the impeller, are usually worn seriously by the solid-phase particle, which results in sharp decline of the pump performance, and even scraption duo to premature failure. Traditionally, the law of motion for the solid particles and the wear characteristics of the flow component have been researched by experiments, which are not only costly but also lower flexibility. Numerical simulation technology, based on CFD, is a powerful tool to sovle these problems, which can effectively simulate and analyze the inner folw field and wear characteristic of the slurry pump.This paper focused on the inner flow field simulation and wear characteristic analysis of the150ZGB slurry pump impeller. After building the impeller model and partitioning grids, the MF model and ST model were used to simulate the solid-liquid flow field under different work conditions. The results show that with increase of the particle size, the tendency of particles moving to pressure sides of blades and the back board goes more obvious. The solid phase with different initial concentration significantly affects the quantity and the wear behavior of particles, which is closely related to the degree of components wear. The serious wear on pressure sides of blades could be reduced by decreasing the rotational speed of the impeller and increasing the flow.The main achievements of this paper are to reveal wear laws of the slurry pump in solid-liquid flow field, and direct the optimum design of the impeller on wear-resistant to improve its performance and extend the service life, hence they are of important value both for theretic development and application.
