Nowadays, the railway development is surging up all over the world, and China is on the way to becoming a high-speed railway nation. Recently, the speed of the vehicle has been raised for six times, and many high-speed railways have already been set up correspondingly. High-speed railway has already become the inevitable trend. Based on these points, it seems essential to do some research on the vehicle running security and stability at high speed. With a certain type of high speed vehicle as the research object, this thesis is aimed at analyzing the characteristics of vibration response and the standard of stability by setting up the vehicle model based on the multiple dynamic software SIMPACK.To begin with, this thesis explains the history and current situation of the vehicle running security and stability thus leading to what we want to study.Then, this thesis sets up the whole vehicle model with SIMPACK by simplifying the model and processing the nonlinear factors. What’s more, this thesis introduces the track irregularity in a rough way and simulates the track irregularity by different means.Then analyze vehicle sinusoidal movement stability, it shows that the model runs stably through the analysis of the root locus diagram; The modal vibration characteristics of vehicle is analyzed, and it can find at a certain period of speed, sinusoidal movement produce resonance respectively with car body of flouting, shaking and nodding, thus leading to a decline in the stability of the vehicle; Moreover, we analyze how the vertical acceleration, lateral acceleration, the vertical displacement and the largest wheel/rail force of oriented wheelset change.The next part accounts for how vehicle stability changed with the change of the tread shape, wheel set diameter and suspension parameters.The result shows that, LMA wheel tread has better stability than S1002wheel tread. Meanwhile, taper tread of vehicle have great influence on lateral stability index, and have small influence on vertical stability relatively; the vehicle lateral stability index gradually become smaller, and the vehicle vertical stability index changed little with the wheelset diameter increasing. With the damping increacing of primary suspension, the acceleration and vehicle stability both have decrease d, and when the damping values between80kN·s/m and100kN·s/m, the vehicle’s vertical stability is best. Also, secondary lateral damping can make the index increase of vehicle lateral stability within a certain range, and when the damping take47kN·s/m lateral stability is best.
