Within the past decade, China’s economy was booming under the supporting ofinfrastructure construction. Bridge engineering played a bond role in the development oftransportation. Hence, the government has invested much and come out several policies forthe bridge construction. Suspension bridge is adopted to modernization development of Chinafor its appealing design and excellent spanning capacity. While as a flexible structure, windload and seismicity make enormous implications on suspension bridge. Since many largesuspension bridges were ruined and destroyed by wind load and seismicity, it is arousingmore and more attentions of bridge experts.Based on Linxia Yongjing reservoir-crossed suspension bridge, structure dynamicbehaviour, wind-induced vibration effect and seismic response are analyzed using finiteelement softwares. The main research is as follows:1: The history and development of typical suspension bridges in Europe, Asia and Chinaare described briefly. The major wind destructions of suspension bridges worldwide areenumerated. The background of suspension bridge anti-seismic theory is introduced.2: Dynamic analysis theory of longspan suspension bridge is introduced. Theintroduction includes differential equations and space finite element method under freevibration of suspension bridge. Meanwhile, the basic views and analyzing methods ofwind-induced vibration and non-uniform excitation seismic theory are explained.3: Based on Linxia Yongjing reservoir-crossed suspension bridge, natural vibrationfrequency and period with and without wind buckles are studied targetedly. Thewind-resistant performance of fundamental components is obtained by adopting finite elementsoftwares, such as SAP2000and MIDAS. According to the theory of wind-induced vibration, the flutter effect and galloping effect of the bridge are calculated.4: Based on Linxia Yongjing reservoir-crossed suspension bridge, earthquake responsespectrum is analyzed using bridge non-linear analysis system. At the same time, the internalforces and displacements aiming at the key sections of tower tops, tower bottoms, beam-endsand midspan are collected. When analyzing seismic response, earthquake response spectrumanalysis method and time-history analysis method are applied generally. Thus, the thesisintroduced the ways of selecting seismic waves. In accordance with the laws and thegeographical features, six typical seismic wave are taken as seismic waves to the study. Thetime-history effect analysis under the seismicity of those key sections of the bridge is takeninto consideration horizontally mainly.
