Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) occupies a very important position in modern conventional weapons. Firing dispersion is an important index to measure the rocket weapon systems’tactical and technical performance. Jet flow is one of the important factors affecting the vibration, initial disturbance, firing dispersion of MLRS. It can provide technical support for improving the firing dispersion of MLRS by the numerical simulation and impact analysis of rocket jet flow on MLRS launch dynamics.In this research, physical model of jet flow considering the multiple launch rocket device and the launch of rocket is established by using the GAMBIT software. By proper partitioning, calculation region with complex shape is separated into many sub-regions with relatively simple shape. Meanwhile, dynamic meshes are achieved by setting moving boundaries, and structure grids with high quality are generated. Numerical simulation of rocket jet flow and the jet impact effects to MLRS is carried on by using the CFD software FLUENT. The time history of jet flow and its impact effects to MLRS such as impact force is acquired. Based on the calculated data of impact force to MLRS, the MLRS launch dynamics model is established using the transfer matrix method for multibody system. The dynamics response of MLRS under the conditions of rocket jet flow is analyzed. Theory basis for MLRS design and improving of the firing dispersion is provided.
