In recent years, more and more precise measurements applied to the living and production process, the application fields is getting smaller. Modern weighing and counting technology have become an integral part of the storage technology and pre-packaging technology. In almost all industrial areas should be applied to the weighing and counting technique, weighing and counting results will affect the quality of product quality and economic efficiency of enterprises. In particular, the quality of the device count in a small package, on one hand ask for a higher accuracy, on the other hand should be suitable for quantitative counting of intelligent packaging and automatic removal of the count error. This requires higher resolution electronic balance, small zero error drift and there is a reliable method for automatic removal of errors.Therefore, the quality of research and development for small high-precision devices packing electronic balance has a high application value and practical significance.In order to meet the feature of the weighting and counting of small packages, this paper designed an intelligent weighting and counting instrument based on SCM which have high precision. The instrument is mainly maked up of the power meter, load cell, single chip, keyboar, LCD and other parts. The input device of the instrument is the strain gauge load cell. By using a24-bit precision ADC (analog-to-digital converter) to convert the sensor’s analog signal into a digital signal and then sent to SCM. The SCM do the high-precision weighing and automatic removal of counting errors of objects through software. Instrument also contains button, LCD and bell as the input and output devices. So as to achieve a good human-computer interaction. We can set the instrument through the input devices. Another instrument is also set aside a communication interface for future upgrades and data transfer network to do the foundation.In this paper, firstly I introduce the development status of electronic balance and counting instrument and also introduce the significance of the present research. Secondly I explain the principles of weighing and counting. Thirdly we describe the system from the hardware design and software design. Finally, I do a detailed study to improve accuracy of system and find a method for error removal.
