Wave energy is a renewable energy, ubiquitously existing in the ocean,theutilization of wave energy plays an significant role in economic development andcitizen life. Because of numerous quantities of islands in our country, part of whichlives far from land,leading to difficulties and higher cost of substance and energysupply. Further more, The research of Energy Conversion System for Wave Energy isstill at an early study stage,but it does not delve deep enough. The Water StorageSystem for Overtopping Wave Energy Convertor is analysed in this article, combinedwith computational fluid dynamics(CFD)、Diffuser Augmented Wind TurbinePrinciple, the design principle and method of Low Speed Blow Down Wind TunnelContraction, to study the energy conversion system on Overtopping Wave EnergyConvertor, improve the efficiency of system convertor, acquire more energy.At first,the research progress on Wave Energy Convertor and Wave EnergyConversion System are summarized in this article. According to the power designrequirement of power of Overtopping Wave Energy Convertor, design water head、overtopping discharge and types of synthesis conditions were taken into considerationin order to choose the turbine type; Proceed stressed analysis of selected models ofturbine blade, as well as design calculation of runner diameter according to the designprinciples of the turbine; combined with the designing desire of convertor power andthe above design and calculation, so as to further determine the diameter of outflowduct to meet flow requirements of the generated output of the device.The reservoir of Overtopping Wave Energy Convertor storage systems wereinitially designed pyramid shape. Preliminary consideration shape of reservoir iscylindrical, conical, curved; curved reservoir are designed by usage of computationalfluid dynamics(CFD)、Diffuser Augmented Wind Turbine Principle, the designprinciple and method of Low Speed Blow Down Wind Tunnel Contraction, severalgeometries model mentioned above were respectively created by3D design program-UG NX7.5.The numerical wave tank is established based on analysis software(FLOW-3D)of Computational Fluid Dynamics.The diameter of outflow duct is analyzed bynumerical simulation to determine the optimal pipe diameter size; According to thechosen diameter of outflow duct,under the same initial conditions and boundaryconditions, different lengths of pipes are numerically simulated respectively, theoptimal length of outlet duct is choosed according to the simulation results; in order toimprove the efficiency of the energy conversion system of Overtopping Wave EnergyConvertor, different shapes and different forms of hydrodynamic performance ofreservoir was designed and studied; different shapes, resistance coefficient, themoulded line, shrinking ratio and other parameters were analyzed to consider theinfluence they have on the Wave Energy Convertor conversion efficiency, under thefully considering the utilized conditions of wave jumping into the reservoir, select thebest performance of reservoir, in order to improve the power generation efficiency ofthe entire device.Through the study of energy conversion system of Overtopping Wave EnergyConvertor, the impact from outflow duct diameter difference, length difference,reservoir shape difference are preliminarily revealed on the conversion efficiency ofWave Energy Convertor, providing guidance and reference for future further researchon the energy conversion system of Wave Energy Convertor, and also certaintheoretical basis of application of Overtopping Wave Energy Convertor in the area ofpractical engineering.
