In recent years, the energy crisis and environment pollution have not only attracted more and more attention to new energy, but also make people’s steps of exploring and using of new energy more compact. The sea covers 71% of the global area, as a clean and new energy ocean wave energy has no pollution and is renewable, and its energy density is far greater than the energy of wind or solar. The development and utilization of wave energy not only can alleviate the environmental pollution, but also can solve the problem of energy crisis, so the development and utilization of ocean wave energy converter is very promising.Under the support of the Chinese Science Foundation of “the research on the mechanism and control strategy for hydraulic system of multi-point array type wave converter”,the oscillating buoy wave energy converter is studied in this paper. Firstly, the situation of the wave energy converter development in recent years is studied,and the working principle and the classification of various categories of the wave energy converter are realized,then decided to design a multi-point array type wave energy converter.At first, define the purpose of designing this wave energy converter is that to design a set of wave energy converter device whose capacity is not less than 10 Kw in certain wave condition,and mainly study on its transmission mode to make the designed wave energy converter running continually and stable. In the first place, the parts of the device for collecting wave energy is designed based on the requirements for the device and the illustration of the device is given.In the second place, a hydraulic transmission system matches with the device is designed emphatically and its principle diagram is also given. The hydraulic system presented in the paper improves the problem of the instability for wave power conversion greatly through installing the accumulator and speed control valve reasonably.At second, the calculation and the reasonable selection of the parameters for the floater in the part of the wave energy collecting and for the main elements of the hydraulic system is carried out. For the floater, the parameter mainly includes the floater’s shape, size and material,and for the hydraulic components, it mainly includes the parameter calculation and the type selection for the generator, hydraulic motor, energy storage device, cylinder, check valve, relief valve and hydraulic pipeline.At last, give simulation to the hydraulic system by using the software of AMESim.The hydraulic system simulation diagram is built and calculations for the multi-piont array type wave energy conversation system is given.When the simulation is completed,the dynamiccharacteristic curve for the hydraulic cylinder, hydraulic motor and load in the hydraulic system can be resulted, and the optimization and analysis is did in succession.After the analysis and optimization for the hydraulic system,the developed experimental platform for the hydraulic system is completed and put into operation, then what we should do is to observe the operation status.
