Under the backgrounds of serious air pollution、great shortage of oil resources and huge amount of biomass in China, bio-oil and its utilization technology has got tons of attention from researchers. However, because of bio-oil has the shortage of low calorific value, relatively poor quality, its application is limited by a certain degree. Emulsifies the mixture of bio-oil and diesel and apply this emulsified mixture to diesel engine is a hot spot of current research. But the emulsion get from conventional emulsifying method has such problems as short stable time and easily delaminated, the performance of diesel engine burning hybrid emulsion diesel with diffrente portion of bio-oil is lack of research and conclusion.This paper proposed using ultrasonic emulsifying method to get hybrid emulsion diesel from the mixture of bio-oil and diesel under specific emulsifier. In order to get more stable hybrid emulsion diesel and find out the the optimal combination of ultrasonic parameters, this paper uses the orthogonal experiment method to test the stability of hybrid emulsion diesel under the impact of ultrasonic emulsifying method,of course, in the experiment of emulsifying, we used mixed emulsifier. Also, we texted the external characteristics, load characteristics, emission characteristics of diesel engine burning hybrid emulsion diesel and0#diesel.Test results shows that:under the condition of ultrasonic power of30W, the processing time of8minutes, specific frequency and ultrasonic wave, the stability of hybrid emulsion diesel is the best among the experiments we have did. It can stay30days without demulsification.The comparison of diesel engine burning B10, B20and B30with burning0#diesel oil shows that in the external characteristics, power and torque decreases, fuel consumption rate increases; in load characteristics, under the same condition of speed, output torque, fuel consumption increase, with bio-oil proportion increases in the hybrid emulsion diesel, fuel consumption rate of growth, in turn, increases; in parts of the operating mode, diesel engine burning B10and0#diesel share the same fuel consumption rate. The fuel consumption rate of growth lead a substantial growth when the engine buring B30. In emission characteristics, the diesel engine burning B10, B20and B30compared with burning0#diesel oil, CO and HC emissions rised, NO emissions decreased obviously, smoke emissions difference is not big under light load, but under heavy load condition, smoke emission lead a sharp drop. Diesel engine burning hybrid emulsion diesel performs well in environmental protection, but the proporting of bio-oil in the hybrid emulsion diesel shouldn’t be large.The results show that the specific ultrasonic strengthening impact can increase the stability of hybrid emulsion diesel; hybrid emulsion diesel used as diesel fuel has good development prospects.
