As the rapid development of the packaging industry, the amount of plastic packaging products’ waste was going with a rapid upward trend in recent years.It not only polluted the environment and caused waste of non-renewable resources such as oil.Using wood residue to develop cushion packaging materials, on the one hand, can meet the need of production and circulation field of packaging materials, on the other hand rationally used the resource-rich wood residues.It has more positive significance for environmental protection at the same time. Mechanical properties as an important performance evaluation of wood residues cushion packaging materials, its research importance is evident.Based on determining the formulation and process parameters of the material,this article studied the mechanical properties of wood residues cushion packaging material respectively from the theoretical analysis and experimental research and simulation modeling in detail.Formulation process determining. Multi-level mixed evenly experiment was designed based on four important factors such as amount of wood fiber, amount of blowing agent to add, pressing temperature and starch/PVA ratio,which affect the mechanical properties of this material.Determined the fomula and prepared the cushion material. And then tested its density, modulus of elasticity, the buffer coefficient and resilience. Test data is processed by the DPS system resulting from the analysis of influence factors and the mechanical properties of relation curve and regression equation.And optimize the regression equation to arrive at the optimal solution, which determine the optimal formulation and preparation process of wood residues cushion packaging material.Mechanics theoretical analysis. Analysis some performances which cushion packaging materials should have in order to prevent the inner packaging product from impact, vibration and other external factors lead to damaged in the product distribution environment.It mainly includes good vibration resistance, buffering performance, elasticity, resilience and creep properties.Different mechanical properties of test methods and formulas were given.Mechanics experiment research. According to the optimal formula of materials, test the mechanical properties from the static compression and rebound performance which were the two representative of impertant aspects.Then tangent function type stress-strain curve, the minimum buffer coefficient between6to8and the average of72%rebound rate were obtained. By contrasted with the performance of commonly used buffer materials we found, cushioning materials obtained from this study had good cushioning properties,and a certain practicality as well.
