With the development of the automobile industry, more and more scholars pay close attention to the car driving safety. When the car sharp turns or avoid emergency obstacle, it is easily to cause a rollover accident. Automotive electronic stability control technology rapid development and wide application make a great contribution to improve vehicle active safety performance. At present, most of this kind of technology control objectives is to control the yawing stability. In order to improve automotive electronic stability control system and further improve car safety performance, we should put rollover stability as an important goal and establish the effective rollover control system.(1) With3DOF linear vehicle rollover model as the foundation, and considering tire radial deformation, this paper established7DOF Vehicle rollover model. The model more accurately describe the swaying posture a more accurately determine the limit position of rollover. Taking a SUV as the research object, this paper simulates the influence of the velocity and the structure parameters on rollover stability of vehicle. According to the simulation results, some scientific bases are put forward for the vehicle design and optimization. (2) A TTR rollover warning algorithm proposed based on7-DOF model. Simulations are made under three kinds of J-Turn operating condition. According to the simulation results, this paper analyses make an analysis about the timeliness of the algorithm. The results show that the algorithm has a strong timeliness for a period of time before rollover moment. According to the timeliness of the algorithm, some design suggestions are proposed for rollover control algorithm.(3) Taking TTR value and the TTR rate as monitoring, this paper design a threshold rollover control system with the joint control method of differential braking and variable stiffness active suspension. All of the simulations are finished by Simulink. The simulation results of joint control system contrast with the results of differential braking control system and the results of system without control. Conclusion shows that the joint control can effectively control a rollover even avoid it, and the joint control improves vehicle rollover resistance. This paper also put forward a corrected control method. Through the verification of simulation, the effect of rollover control system is improved obviously after correction.
