Design Study On The Renovation&Extension Of The Museum Architecture Based On Space Experience

The issue in renovation and expansion of museum is one of the embranchment on theresearch of the old building reuse. At present, domestic academia pays close attention toprotection and reuse of historic building, but less attention to renovation and expansion ofmuseum. This paper attempts to analyze the space link at several levels in the renovation&extension of the museum, and propose specific design methods in order to providereference for the same type of project design in our country.The paper firstly described the historical background and meaning of research, the objectand scope of study, also summarized research methods. In chapter II, it analyzed thenecessary condition and special nature on renovation and extension of museum architecture.In chapter III, it explained the philosophical concept of experience, the importance ofexperience in museum architecture, also discussed the characteristics of experience andcorresponding space requirements in the renovation&extension of the museum. In chapterIV, it put forward the design principles of space from space experience point of view andthe expression of experience in the renovation&extension of the museum.
