With the integrated circuit manufacturing technology forward to smaller size, theelectronic products using integrated circuit components such as smart phones,notebook computers,netbooks and other become smaller and can carry,so the keycomponents of these devices-Power Supply need small size, light weight, highenergy density.The switching power supply with small size,light weight, low loss,high efficiency have a wide range of applications, and is gradually replacingtraditional linear power becoming main products in the electronic equipments.This paper described the topology and basic principles of the buck DC-DCswitching power supply, and the technology used by the industrial design ofswitching power supply, such as pulse width modulation, pulse frequencymodulation, pulse width/pulse frequency mixed modulation, synchronousrectification, had a brief detailed explanation of the generation mechanism ofswitching power supply power losses.The thesis used the advanced BCD6(minimum size of.35uM) process of STMicroelectronics to design a high efficiency buck DC-DC switching powersupply.First,built a behavior model of the power supply, the power supply loopcompensation to ensure that in a variety of applications the power supply system canbe stable and reliable work. Then built the power supply from the circuit-level,including each circuit module structure, taking advantage of the the Mentor Company’sSpice simulation software to simulate the key circuit and then the whole circuit, andgave waveform diagram of each key module and the overall circuit, ensured that thecircuit design specifications to meet the application requirements.
