Transient electromagnetic interference in smart substation is a key problemdisturbs reliable and stable operation of secondary equipment. With enhance number ofsmart substations have put into service, secondary equipment moving forward has madesome of those equipment suffered from serious interference generated by primaryequipment. Due to that, secondary equipment malfunction occurs occasionally.Therefore effective assessment of the electromagnetic compatibility environment forsecondary equipment in the smart substation has extremely important researchsignificance, but the assessment is based on premise that electromagnetic interferencetransient process can be got accurately, so real-time monitoring of electromagneticinterference is needed, but existing magnetic field detection system has some defectslimited by equipment and experimental conditions. The main content of this thesisaiming at assessment of electromagnetic compatibility environment are as follows:1. This thesis has obtained a simulation result of the typical secondary equipmentin the substation suffered from electromagnetic interference, and an evaluation calledinterference level of the secondary equipment in smart substation is proposed.2. In order to get the transient process accurately, a3D magneto-resistive sensorwith embedded computer hardware platform and VC software platform are used todesign a transient magnetic field monitoring system. The system has a desirableelectromagnetic compatibility so that can operate safely and stably in complexelectromagnetic environment of substations and converter stations. The system consistsof data acquisition, data transmission, real-time waveform display, waveform storageand analysis of historical data. This system can accurately grasp electromagneticinterference signals generated by the substation switching operation and transientprocess. GPS contained in the system can associate the time of electromagneticinterference and substation transient operating events.3. After the development of the system has been achieved, an experiment abouttransient magnetic pulse is accomplished. The result of experiments proves that thissystem can grasp transient magnetic field pulses, and the system has the ability to do experiments in substations.4. This thesis has measured the magnetic field in Taoxiang substation and Weigangsubstation, also in Jinping converter station and got a large number of measured data.This thesis analyzes the measured data and proposes the conclusion about the EMCenvironment of the smart substation and converter station.
