Rapid development of MTR is the important approach to solve the big urban traffic jamproblem. With the gradually improvement of MTR network, the MTR hubs is becomeinevitable outcome. The hub is the connecting points and gathered large number of passengerflow in the MTR network. It is necessary for further research in MTR hubs to make sure theeffective organization of passenger flow throw more reasonable planning and design oftransportation hub, and determining which effective measure should be used to realize thepassenger emergency evacuation when encountering emergency in the passenger flowdistribute hub.The paper firstly study passenger flow organization in the MTR hub station systematicbased on the analysis of passenger flow organization development at home and abroad.Giving to a brief introduction to MTR’s passenger flow characteristics and the influencefactors of passenger flow organization, and analyses the composition of transfer flow and itscharacteristics. At the same time put forward optimization method of passenger floworganization in the four aspects: Passenger transport lines, service facilities, organization andmanagement of passenger traffic and other passenger, passenger emergency evacuation.Then detail organizational and management mode of passenger traffic flow in therunning process of the hub, and analyze features and configuration management ofinfrastructure, service section and staff related to the different steps in the process of thewhole. Then according to survey results to demand for a large number of passengers, set upmatching mode between passenger demand and provided service by hub and put forward thecorresponding quantitative criteria. The configuration of all kinds of facilities and the settingsof passenger flow in MTR hubs was rationally defined though mathematical method.Secondly,by comparison between static method and dynamic one, it concludes thedynamic simulation method’s advantages premised on emphasizing the integration of thesetwo methods. Based on research on characteristics of hub’facilities and passenger trafficflow in discussing the traffic organization optimization, it introduces the concept of nodewhich regard the facilities in hubs as models.Finally, the paper apply VISSIM which is the micro dynamic simulation software topassenger emergency evacuation as Xidan subway station example. it can obtain thebottleneck point and evacuation time of passenger evacuation through the visible process ofthe passenger flow simulation, and compare the different between evacuation time ofsimulation and evacuation time of static calculation according to the design standards at home and abroad. Consequently provide effective solution of passenger flow organization andimprovement measures of MTR hubs.
