The phenomenon of the increasingly serious drinking water pollution has aroused people’s widespread attention at the moment. Facing severer drinking water quality standards and higher water quality requirements, conventional water treatment process has been powerless. Therefore, the development and application of new water treatment technology is an urgent problem for the current water treatment workers to solve. For the past few years, the rapid development of membrane separation technology was widely applied in water treatment engineering. And it also showed prominent advantages in dealing with a small amount of water, so which undoubtedly became the best treatment options in the process of water plant construction and renovation in the countryside and small towns. The biological mixture was composed of both raw water of Huaihe River directly filtered by ultrafiltration membrane and diatomite in the batch test in this paper. Compared to ultrafiltration membrane filtration of the raw water of Huaihe River, the membrane flux decreased rapidly during the initial filtration when the mixture is filtrated, and the degree of attenuation was increased by5%in the end of the filtration. Influence on membrance flux when filter two kinds of samples, which mainly resulted from the adsorption of Hydrophilic organic matter with macromolecules, neutral substances with small molecules and humic acid with small-to-medium-size both in membrane surface and membrane core, and from the retention with concentration polarization. The first two organisms caused the initial rapid flux decay compared to the raw water. In this paper, diatomaceous earth/ultrafiltration integrated membrane bioreactor (BDE/UF) process was applied to carry out in the pilot test study on the micro-polluted raw water of the Huaihe River. The removal efficiency of pollutants in Huaihe River raw water was examined under the BDE/UF process with ultrafiltration as the core. The main reason of the falling of membrane flux was also analyzed combined a batch test. And the influence factors of membrane fouling were analyzed by observing the phenomenon appeared in actual operation in the pilot equipment. The large amount of operational data obtained in the test will provide the reference for the practical application of this process in the field of water treatment. When the running of equipment was achieved stability in the BDE/UF treatment of Huaihe River raw water test, the water turbidity less than0.3NTU was up to93%, and CODMn removal efficiency was between30%and60%. Most of UV254removal efficiency was greater than20%, but UV410always maintained at a lower level. NH3-N in effluent was with a mean of0.21mg/L, and the average removal efficiency was73.66%. NO2--N was less than0.1mg/L, and removal efficiency was more than90%. But the removal of CODMn, UV254and NO2--N were affected adversely because of the decrease of temperature in winter.During the operation of the BDE/UF membrane flux, suction/the intermittent, aeration intensity, air exposure time and backwash strength all had certain impacts on membrane fouling and stable operation of the BDE/UF. And the nature of the mixture in the reactor also had a certain impact on membrane fouling.
