The noise pollution has become one of the major environmental issues, due to the growing of the noise sources and the complexity noise conditions lead to sound environment deteriorating, and the designers and client prefer to adopt double-leaf wall. For achieving the demand of high sound insulation of this structure can to alleviate the noise disturbing to human being. However, now the sound insulation performance of the double-leaf wall with studs is mainly measured by experiment, the further research is required to find the improvement.According to the characteristics of sound waves of the theoretical analysis using statistical energy analysis, which discuss the calculation of the sound insulation of the double wall with studs and focuses on the junction coupling loss factors of the wall and studs. Then the formula of the sound insulation of the structure is derived, this provides a theoretical basis for thesis for the further research. In order to simplify the calculation in the theoretical analysis, the sound transmission paths were optimized when calculating the sound insulation of double wall, it takes into account the two dominate sound transmission paths: the path of cavity and studs. And take the existing structure of the measured data to predicted and compared,there is a good agreement between measured data and predicted. The conclusion proves that take the main path of the sound transmission into account is feasible and accurate.In this paper, it uses the1/3octave frequency to describe the sound insulation of the materials,and domestic use octave. With numerical analysis methods, the1/3octave measured data of sound insulation can be achieved, because of lacking the1/3octave measured data of sound insulation at the domestic. Using this method can calculate1/3octave sound insulation, and compared it with the measured data, there is a good agreement between single wall and double-leaf wall.Then using this theory to predict the sound insulation curves of the double wall compose of the thick wall, thin plate and studs when the thickness of the wall and studs, the distance are changed, respectively. On the basis of the curves, it can analyze and summarize the rule and character of the sound insulation performance.lt derived that the variables such as the wall thickness, studs thickness and spacing, etc would affected the sound insulation from its formula. Then predicted the sound insulation characteristic curve of the double wall composed of the thin, thick wall and studs by one of the parameters as variables, respectively. On the basis of the curves, it can analyze and summarize the rule and character of the sound insulation performance. It can propose some methods to improve sound insulation properties of double wall, according to its regularity and characteristics of component, such as:choose low transmission coefficient of building materials, less the node coupling loss factors, etc. Especially when double wall is comprised of thick wall and studs as for sound source plate can achieve better sound insulation effect.
