The construction of hydro junction have power generation, shipping, flood controland irrigation and other benefits. There are the needs for comprehensive developmentand utilization of water resources. After the project was completed, the dam intercept alarge number of sediment discharge from upstream, water and sediment characteristicsof natural river changed completely, and the water downstream is" The release of clearwater ". Because "the release of clear water" changed the erosion-deposition balance, itwill lead to downstream riverbed long distance and longtime change. The riverbedwill be adjusted to reach a new equilibrium. But for the downstream channel, especiallythe complicated shoal group by many regulation structures controlled,"The release ofclear water" will lead danger to the building safety, and ever the consequences ofbuildings will be collapsed Thus, according to the characteristics of water and sedimentof different rivers, make a study of the affect to the river bed change, and the safety ofdam group for the release of clear water is very necessary.Simulation study on water and sediment conditions caused by the change of riverbed evolution, The analysis method are physical model and mathematical model. Atpresent, the mathematical model of the shallow water equations and finite volumemethod based on the theory of development, not only be able to simulate the bed (slow)long-term evolution process of complex erosion and siltation correctly, and river waterand sediment change, but also can reflect the local bend, deep pools, riffles andhydraulic structures near the bed.The main content research of this paper is make the study of "The release of clearwater" affect to Manting after the construction of Ganlanba power, There are as follows:â‘ The changes of downstream river regime and riverbed scouring caused by the releaseof clear water;â‘¡The formation and evolution of the scour hole, and the affect of therenovation building;â‘¢According to the evolution analysis and summary, making theriver bed and renovation of buildings protection measures. This research results not onlyprovide scientific evidence for the protective engineering of Manting, but also can be areference for the similar engineering.
