Research Of Environmental Facilities Design Based On Regional Culture Of West Anhui

Public facilities design is an important part of urban design, which can reflect the city’s culture, quality, style and spirit etc, and is an indispensable carrier of the city’s image and culture. Lu’an City is located on the west of Anhui Province, between the Yangtze River and the Huaihe River, and set at the north of Dabieshan Mountains. In recent years, the urban developed rapidly, becoming better and better day by day. But the city has no obviously visual characteristic and the city facilities are not perfect. This article tries to integrate Lu’an culture into the design of public facilities, based on discussing regional features, so to build the city ID card and to improve the city image.This paper summarizes the status of city environmental facilities design over the world, finding some existing problems in Lu’an city. Then researches the regional culture of West Anhui, and abstracts the characteristics of symbols. Finally, the author puts forward his own ideas and opinions on how to integrate the West Anhui regional culture into environmental facilities design of Lu’an city. As resulting, the author shows his several experiences of environmental facilities design to explore how to apply the ideas in practice.
