With the development of technology, vehicle monitoring system gradually applies tovarious professions; most of the existing vehicle monitoring system adopts Web form. It onlycan view the running state of moving vehicle in the monitoring center, which fixes the officelocation, and can’t view the condition of the vehicle at any time in a mobile environmentanywhere. And the complex of system development, costs and operation maintenance takes alot of manpower and financial resources. It isn’t suitable for small and medium-sizedenterprises and personal to use. With the development of tablet PCs and smart phones, led tothe vehicle monitoring system by the Web form Migration to the mobile client. The purposeof this thesis is porting traditional Web monitoring center to the smart phone terminal monitor,reduces system development and maintenance costs, improves the flexibility of the vehiclemonitoring system, and expands the use crowd of the vehicle monitoring system.On the basis of the analysis of vehicle monitoring technology, research the combinationof vehicle monitoring system with intelligent mobile terminal. For the deficiencies of theexisting vehicle monitoring system, thesis proposes the overall program integrating thevehicle monitoring system based on the Android platform with GPS, GIS, GSM networks,computer networks.At the same time, the thesis also study the key technology of vehicle monitoring systemsuch as GPS data acquisition, intelligent phone service status query, wireless communications,and visual display of offline map, complete the design and implementation of vehiclemonitoring system based on Android through the development of standard software, theformulation of the agreement.Through the test environment that comes with the Android development platform,completed the functional verification of smart phone vehicle monitoring system, and test it with Samsung i9000phone. The test results show that the monitoring system real-timemonitor the vehicle location and status in a mobile environment to achieve the desiredobjectives.
