Research On The Pile Group Effect Of Horizontal Bearing Pile Foundation

Today, China is in a golden period of economic development, allkinds of engineering investment and infrastructure construction aregrowing rapidly. Pile foundation has been widely used among varioustypes of foundation engineering, and the horizontal bearing pilefoundation is one important type being large-scale use, such as Harborand Pier foundation engineering, pile foundation under Earthquake, pilefoundation to resist horizontal thrust by superstructure bagging, SlopeEngineering pile foundation. But compared to the numbers of pilefoundation engineering applications, the theory is lagging behind.Mostly, horizontal bearing pile foundations are applied by the formof pile group with a cap. Because of pile-soil interaction complexity,coupled with the diversity of pile group foundation, research in this areais extremely difficult. Based on the above, in this thesis the maincontents are lateral load response of a pile group and the groupefficiency.In this thesis, the first step is collecting the test data in a horizontalbearing pile group foundation situ test, then use the geotechnicalsoftware FLAC3D to establish the corresponding calculation model.Comparing the different results from simulation and situ test, the mainreasons are found. With the in-depth analysis of the properties, the soildisplacement characteristics and the soil resistance distribution form areillustrated, and then one possibility of displacement and failure modes israised. According to the existing model parameters,9differenthorizontal bearing pile group foundations are extendedly calculated,with those word above, the criteria of comparison among differentnumerical models is proposed with the physical meanings. At the sametime, the pile group efficiency factors of those9horizontal bearing pilegroup foundations are obtained. According to the results and conclusionsin this thesis, some engineering practice recommendations are putforward.
