With the development of enterprise information integration, AGVs are widely usedin materials handling systems for logistics automation. Most of the traditional workshoplogistics are transported by the conveyor, human carts, etc. There are two disadvantagesof the logistics mode: First, the logistics delivery is inefficient, in other words thelinkage between upstream and downstream processes is not good; second, as the priceof labor rising, human cost increases dramatically. AGV systems, which are helpful toachieve the enterprise information construction, do not have shortcomings of traditionalworkshop logistics; play a great role in reducing labor costs, improving enterpriseefficiency and other aspects.At present, AGV is produced by modular design, AGV manufacturers use theirown design based on the purchase of the appropriate parts for assembly. Thus AGVvehicle manufacturing technology can easily be mastered. AGV AutomatedTransportation Management Program is the core technology of the system. With thesame AGV vehicle, which is scheduled in different management systems, the efficiencyof the system are not the same. Therefore, the paper focuses on AGVs schedulingalgorithm and path planning algorithm to provide a theoretical support for the designand implementation of management systems. The main contents are as follows:Firstly, the characteristics of different guide paths and the effect of differentelectronic map models are analyzed to design electronic map. A*algorithm is finallyused to find shortest path based on the research of genetic algorithms and other singleAGV path planning algorithms, considering system requirements of stability andreal-time.Secondly, according to the actual needs of the system, the AGV utilization and pathlength are selected as the scheduling performance index, combined with multi-indexscheduling theory. The conflicts solution is given upon the research of conflicts in theprocess of scheduling.Then, a further research on the multi-AGV path planning algorithm is carried outon the basis of single AGV path planning algorithm. This paper analyzes thecharacteristics of different algorithms to determine a reasonable multi-AGV pathplanning algorithm.Finally, AGV automatic transport management system is developed with thesupport of related theories in VC++6.0. Afterwards, System reliability is verified.
