This paper studies a kind of ac induction magnetic levitation device and introduces the structureand the working principle. According to electromagnetic induction theory, through the establishmentof equivalent circuit model between the excitation coil and nonmagnetic metal ring, this paper derivesthe induction levitation force formula of the metal ring. On the basis of theoretical analysis, combinedwith finite element analysis software Ansoft, this paper designed the size of each part of the device. Inthis paper, the magnetic field performance, the induction levitation force of the ring and inducedcurrent density of the ring are reseached through Ansoft. The simulation results show that, the corehas good permeability performance, which can effectively guide the alternating magnetic fieldthrough the nonmagnetic metal ring; the force act on the ring is repulsive force and the attractive forcealternately with a cycle, but the absolute value of the repulsive force is greater than the absolute valueof the attractive force; with the relative distance of the metal ring and base increasing, the inducedcurrent of the ring decreases obviously. Finally, this paper reseached on the induction levitation forceof the metal rings quantitatively with experiments, and realized the suspension of the metal ring stably. In this paper the principle to measure the induction levitation force of the ring is proposed. Accordingto the principle, a measure rig is designed. The experiments results show that, with current of the coilincreasing, the induction levitation force is continuously increasing, but the increasing range increasesfirst, and then decreases; with frequency of the current increasing, induction levitation force increasesfirst, but when the frequency f is more than100Hz, the force becomes a stationary value gradually;with the relative distance of the metal ring and base increasing, the force will decrease gradually; withaxial length of the metal rings increasing, the levitation force increases first, and then becomes astationary value. The suspension height of a metal ring not only depends on its induction levitationforce, but also depends on its own gravity.
