"Fujian earth-building" have much attention of the world for its distinctivearchitectural features and cultural style. Although earth-buildings have stand thewind and rain hundreds of years, but as time goes by, more and more buildingsdestroyed even collapsed, in order to make the special buildings which is a symbolof the wisdom of the ancient people stand forever, must to make the specificreinforcement and maintenance to protect the earth-building.This paper take the static triaxial test and the axial compressive destructive testto research the mechanical properties of rammed-earth material, gets the statictriaxial test failure mode of the sample which has a diameter of39.1mm and aheight of80mm and the axial compressive destructive test failure mode of thesample which is a150mm cube sample, then compare with rock sample triaxial testfailure mode and concrete block axial compression test failure mode, we findrammed-earth material presents common mechanical properties with buildingmaterials when it is in normal moisture content and stress situation. According to themechanical properties of the rammed-earth material, we select rebound hammer asnondestructive testing method of rammed-earth wall strength, and make appropriatereform to improve the detection precision.Consult the method of building the testing strength curve for concrete, we takethe150mm cube sample which history is110years and240years to survey reboundand compressive strength, then fitting testing strength curve and curve equation byMATLAB. Testing a rammed-earth wall by rebound hammer, and calculatingstructure size and loads, according to the standard to calculate the safety reliabilitycoefficient, then determining the amount of protection plan and strength maintenancemeasures after assessing its bearing capacity safety level.
