WithChina’s economy’s rapid growth, Chinese Han Buddhist temples have mushroomedalong with more and diversified needs in function. Now numerous old ChineseBuddhist temples in existence are being renovated and expanded as a result of manysocial and economic aspects in Chinese Buddhism growth, and, agitated by the boomin construction projects of Chinese Buddhist temples, people begin to pay attention toagain to the Buddhist culture. In such a situation, we are required to run a systematicstudy on the several aspects like Buddhist temples’ own spatial form, architecturallayout, landscape configuration and garden construction site so as to work out asolution conforming to current situations and the development of modern Chinese HanBuddhist temples, through which Chinese Han Buddhist temples, the city and thenature are allowed to coexist rationally and thus develop orderly. In this way, the needto develop tourism and economy can be met and Buddhist doctrines and thoughts canbe also spread and inherited more inclusively and profoundly.Therefore, this paper analyzes the architectural layout of modern Chinese HanBuddhist temples and its origin, then constructs the overall plan for every remainingChinese Han Buddhist temple by sorting a certain quantity of Chinese Han Buddhisttemples, or within a certain range, known through research findings, and finally sumsup current situations of Chinese Han Buddhist temples and existing problems based on a certain amount of Buddhist temples’ plane diagrams and analytical graphics. Thelong and tortuous extraordinary evolution of Chinese Han Buddhist temples which canbe seen today comes through in either site selection or building layout.
